The Pacific Crest Trail is a long-distance mountain hiking and equestrian trail, and one of its most beautiful sections goes past Timberline Lodge and along the western flank of Mt. Hood. Alpine meadows, wild and scenic rivers, waterfalls, volcanic evidence, and wildflowers are around every bend. The trail continues through Cascade Locks and crosses the Columbia River via the Bridge of the Gods, which the lowest elevation of the trail.
