The Cottonwood Trailhead accesses the Cottonwood Trail System which is open to hikers, horseback riders, and mountain bike riders. The trailhead is adjacent to Cottonwood Meadows Lake. Accommodations include a parking area (adequate for trailer turnaround), toilet facilities in the campground, signed trail directions, horse corrals, feeders and water troughs.
Activities include fishing, bird watching, wildlife viewing, wading, and photography.
Directions: From Lakeview: Travel west on Highway 140 for 24 miles, then turn right on Forest Road 3870. Go on Forest Road 3870 for 8 miles and you should see the campground and trailhead entrance signs.
Seasonal Access: Normally Open: June-Mid-October (Trail and parking area maintained during these dates.)
