It passes through old-growth timber and alpine meadow openings that surround the lakes. The large lake has a log framed shelter, constructed in the 1930′s while the small lake offers a log wall shelter, constructed in 1994. Both lakes are maintained for recreational use. The trail features some wildflowers during the spring and summer.
