The Fox Segment of the North Umpqua Trail follows the North Umpqua River to the west through old-growth forest. The trail features scenic views of the streams, river and differing plant communities provided along the trail. Wildflowers can be observed during the spring season but be careful of Poison Oak which can also be found along the trail. A toilet is provided at the Wright Creek Trailhead.

Directions: From Roseburg: Travel east on Highway 138 18 miles past the North Umpqua Ranger Station to the Wright Creek Trailhead, where this segment begins.
