Browns Crossing Trail

This short trail follows a closed road from Brown’s Crossing of the Deschutes to the Crane Prairie reservoir dam, through stands of old-growth ponderosa pine adjacent to the river. The crossing and nearby Brown’s Mountain were named for an early homesteader in the area.
Directions: From Bend: Trail begins 24 miles southwest of Sunriver on Forest Rd. 42, near Twin Lakes. Turn right on the dirt road just before the Deschutes River bridge and park in the small parking lot near Browns Mountain Day Use.
Seasonal Access: Normally Open: Late Spring-Fall
