Yaquina Bay lighthouse was built in 1871, but is no longer in use today. Due to this, a few ghost stories have been told about this particular lighthouse. Visitors can tour the lighthouse itself, as well as a gift shop in its basement and its antique period furniture.
*Note: The Yaquina Bay Lighthouse in Newport,Oregon will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays for November, December, January and February. Operating hours will remain the same Wednesday through Sunday 12:00pm-4:00pm. All other months the lighthouse will be open 7 days a week. October, March, April and May the lighthouse will be open 7 days a week 12:00pm-4:00pm and June thru September. It will be open 7 days a week from 11:00am-5:00pm. This will continue each year until further notice. Down time will be used to do maintenance to the facilities.
