The multimedia, interactive exhibits at the center focus on the volcanic upheaval and raging floods that created the Gorge, the unique flora and fauna of the region, and 11,000 years of cultural history. Collections include hundreds of Pacific Northwest Indian baskets, photo archives, and local genealogical files. The site provides walking trails, a pond, and scenic overlooks. Live raptor education programs engage all ages in issues related to habitat preservation. Lunch, coffee, and snacks served in the Basalt Rock Cafe.
