Prospect offers opportunities for hiking, picnicking, viewing wildlife, viewing scenery and enjoying nature.

Prospect State Scenic Viewpoint provides a beautiful, quiet secluded forest area with picnic tables and a hiking trail leading to Pearsony Falls, the Rogue River and Mill Creek Falls. No drinking water is available at this site.

: Climate in this region varies with elevation and from east to west. The western portions of this region experience higher precipitation and more moderate temperatures year-round. The eastern end of this region is much more arid, with warmer summer temperatures and colder winter temperatures. The higher elevations receive abundant winter snowfall which stays on the ground until early summer in the high mountains.

Location: Prospect State Scenic Viewpoint is located in Southern Oregon, off Oregon Highway 62, 1 mile south of the town of Prospect.
