Stand UP! For the Bay is a paddle event, and celebration of national estuaries day.  The event will take place in downtown Coos Bay, at the public dock/boardwalk.  Meet on the boardwalk (across from Visitor Center).  A participatory waiver form will need to be signed by all those who wish to participate. The group will either stand up paddle, canoe, or kayak, in the bay along a route that is designed for ease of travel, with consideration of tide and wind direction.  The route will be moderate in length and will take 1-2 hours.  There will be support people in place incase of emergency.  A boat and two lifeguards will be on watch for safety purposes.  Life jackets are required. 

This event includes live music as well as a paddle board jousting event. After the paddle there will be a luau after the paddle with time to provide feedback on what ways Surfrider acan continue to enhance the natural water resources.
