International Migratory Bird Day
Migrate to Lincoln County on International Migratory Bird Day May 10, 2014. The Central Coast is well known for exceptional birding from woodland to shore and marine birds. For a variety of bird species their migration ends here on the coast as they begin to establish nesting sites. For many others this is just a stopping point as the continue to trek north. Several Bird Walks are planned in the morning along the whole length of the county. Bird enthusiasts should then “migrate” to Newport, Oregon located in the center of the county to where a variety of activities, events and bird watching activities will be offered throughout the midday and afternoon. Guided bird activities will focus on beginner and intermediate birders, are family friendly, and a number of events will have Spanish Interpreters.
All events are free. For further information contact OregonCoastBirding@gmail.com. A full schedule will be available April 1, 2014.
