For its first ten years, J.K. Carriere operated from a rustic one-time hazelnut drying barn nestled on the grounds of the historic Springbrook Hazelnut Farm Bed and Breakfast in Yamhill County, Oregon. In November 2007, J.K. Carriere purchased 40 acres of grape-growing land on the southeast flank of Parrett Mountain, about three miles due east of its original location, in the Chehalem Mountains AVA.

Almost two years and countless hours toiling over building and planting details brings us to our new winery and estate vineyard, a completed in September 2009.

Small production allows owner/winemaker Jim Prosser to make the highest quality Pinot Noir on a barrel-by-barrel basis. The winery’s name is a combination of Jim’s grandfathers’ names and represents a covenant he holds with their integrity. A wasp features prominently on the label because it has twice nearly killed him. J.K. Carriere wines are available in wine shops, fine dining establishments and specialty markets in twelve states, as well as directly through the winery.

We invite you to come explore our wines at our new tasting room, located at the new winery on Parrett Mountain. We’re open Friday and Saturday, 11 am to 4 pm, March through December and by private appointment on more convenient days through all the seasons. There is a $10 tasting fee, refundable with purchase. The winery participates in Oregon’s Thanksgiving and Memorial Day weekend wine country open houses. For private appointments or other inquiries please call 503/554-0721.

Tasting Room Hours: Fridays & Saturdays 11-4pm

Tasting Fee: 10
