Visit the John Day Fossil Beds or check out the Kam Wah Chung Museum, which pays homage to the Chinese culture and history in Oregon. Or head outdoors to the Strawberry Mountains, located just east of John Day, for hiking, biking fishing and nature watching. Guests can also take a day trip to enjoy the historic and legendary Oregon Trail, and there’s even an annual balloon festival and rodeo.
