Bandon Dunes Golf Resort was conceived and executed in harmony with the natural environment on Oregon's rugged South Coast. The resort features two distinctly different courses, both built on a beautiful stretch of sand dunes perched 100 feet above the Pacific Ocean. The terrain is strikingly similar to the stretch of Scotland's coastline where the game of golf was born. Between them, the two courses feature a dozen holes that run along the bluff overlooking 23 miles of sweeping, undisturbed shoreline. # While conveniently located near Bandon Dunes, Pacific Dunes is remarkably different in character and shot making requirements. Designed by Tom Doak, Pacific Dunes emerges from Shore Pines to spectacular sixty-foot dunes blanketed in grasses and native vegetation. Green complexes are smaller, with greater undulation, requiring precise approaches. Like Bandon, the course is designed for walkers only and use of the resort's professional caddies is encouraged. # Our lodge is the center of activity at the resort, and features spa facilities, and sports lounge, a complete Pro Shop and an outstanding restaurant, serving fresh Pacific Northwest cuisine and the finest cuts of choice beef this side of Kansas City. # Lodge offers 15 single rooms, four larger singles, and two deluxe suites, many with dramatic golf course views, others with quiet lake and forest vistas. Nearby, four 12-room cottages overlook the Lily Pond and woods. # In Spring of 2002, Bandon Dunes is adding 84 new rooms to our list of first class accomodations. Just a few hundred yards Northeast of the lodge, on the banks of Chrome Lake, are 21 new buildings, each with two tastefully spacious rooms downstairs and a two bedroom suite upstairs -- all perfectly suited for a foursome. # WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING: "Probably the finest land made available for a golf course in America since Alistar MacKenzie was shown the site for the Cypress Point Club on the Monterey Peninsula." - Golf Magazine In 2001, Golf Magazine ranked Pacific Dunes #17 and Bandon Dunes #11 on their list of the top 100 Courses in the U.S. On their list of the Top 100 in the World, Pacific Dunes was ranked #26 and Bandon Dunes #70. "It won't be long before Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes, given their public accessibility, unspoiled environment, dramatic setting, thoughtful design and true golf spirit are considered the best tandom of courses in the world." -- Jaime Diaz, Senior Writer, Golf Digest "Pacific Dunes...emerges as perhaps the last great meeting of sand and sea on American soil." -- Ron Whitten, Architecture Editor, Golf Digest Named Best New Upscale Public Course by Golf Digest. The campground is nestled among shore pines and well protected from the strong ocean breezes. Besides three loops of campsites, the park boasts thirteen yurts, making year round camping a very popular choice. The horse camp features easy access to the beach and dunes for equestrian campers.

Well known for excellent fishing and crabbing opportunities on the Coquille River, the boat launch facilities are well-used during the summer and fall seasons.

From the registration booth in the campground, take a stroll on a meandering paved pathway to the beach (a little more than a mile). The path weaves through the open grassy fields and lowland forest across a plain to the sandy dunes. All along the path are views of the beautiful Coquille River, usually dotted with colorful boats and kayaks. Across the river is Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge, sporting a variety of resident and migrating wildlife. Be sure to bring your binoculars!

The historic Coquille River Lighthouse is located at the end of the beach access road in the park. It's staffed from May thru October with park volunteers who interpret the history of the area and lead tours to the lantern room. From this point, there are 4.5 miles of open beach to explore. Bring your mountain bike to ride along the hard-packed sand along the edge of the surf or just enjoy a leisurely stroll on along the ocean shore. The park also has a 7-mile equestrian trail.

There's more nearby. Across the river is Bandon by the Sea. Visit a variety of shops, galleries and restaurants in the town that is called "The Cranberry Capital of the World" as well as the "The Storm Watching Capital of the World." Learn the legend of Face Rock and access miles of shoreline at our day use State Parks on Beach Loop Drive. One of Oregon’s 7 Golf Gems, Bandon Dunes Golf Resort opened in 1999 with much fanfare, but you don’t have to be a golfer to appreciate this gorgeous, rugged course. Designed by Scotsman David McKay Kidd, the course is perched on a bluff high above the Pacific Ocean and unfolds along sweeping untamed shores, primal grassy dunes and towering coastal forests. Nearly every hole was conceived to be in harmony with the natural environment and golfers can expect dramatic ocean views and a new experience at every hole, every time it’s played.

Since its inception, Bandon Dunes has inspired three more world-class golf courses at the resort: Pacific Dunes, Bandon Trails and Old Macdonald, as well as a 13-hole par three track (Bandon Preserve) and an 18-hole putting course (The Punchbowl). It’s perennially ranked among the top golf resorts in the world and is one of the few American golf retreats true to the legacy of Scotland’s ancient links.

Bandon Dunes is committed to the economic vitality of the region; it employs nearly 400 caddies during the high season and supports projects that protect the rich lands and waters on the Southern Oregon Coast through its grant-funding organization, the Wild Rivers Coast Alliance (WRCA).
