Wiking: Wine Hiking on the Rogue River Trail
Just about anything you find on TravelOregon.com can be added to your own personal Trip Planner. Find out how.
After Wiking was featured in the New York Times in 2011 we’ve sold out this trip five times in the last 12 months. We’re now taking reservation for the 2013 hiking season on the Rogue River Trail. Just north of the Applegate Valley, the Rogue River flows towards the Pacific Ocean. For over one hundred years the Bureau of Land Management has maintained the Rogue River Trail that follows the Rogue River through the Siskiyou Mountain range.
Hikers experience a beautiful hiking trail averaging about 10 miles a day and spend evenings in a different wilderness lodge along the trail. What makes this trip earn the title of “Wiking” is we bring our resident staff sommelier Liz Wan on this adventure. Liz who is an expert on Southern Oregon Wines will present wine tastings and pairings each evening our trip.
