What are some fun and exciting things to do in portland for kids and teens? Also some places to go swimming that aren’t too cold?

There are quite a few municipal pools in Portland.  The outdoor ones are only open during the summer.
And here’s a discussion on a local blog about “Portland Swimming Holes.” With regards to other activities, there are plenty!  When you visit check out some local blogs to find community events.

    Some our favorites when we have guests in town: 1. Portland Saturday Market fun shopping for local stuff, music and people watching 2. the Avalon theater and arcade on Belmon – 5 cent games and cheap movies 3. Rent bikes on Portland’s waterfront for an awesome ride through Kerr cycles. 4. Saturday morning farmer’s market on the park blocks – delicious food and free music and cooking demos
